Crash Into the Party with Broken Glass Candy!
This festive candy is great for the holidays but can also be turned into a fun treat any time of year with a change up in flavours and colours. Get creative and this time, definitely break the glass.

Ingredients:
1 cup water
3 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon food colouring of your choice
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon flavoured oil or extract
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
- Sift powdered sugar over the entire pan and set aside.
- In a saucepan, add the water, white sugar, and corn syrup.
- Turn on medium heat and stir until all is dissolved.
- Insert a candy thermometer and let mixture come to a boil.
- Let mixture boil until it reaches 150 degrees C or 300 degrees F.
- Remove from heat and add the colouring and flavouring and stir.
- Pour candy mixture on the pan with the powdered sugar.
- Let the candy completely cool for about 1 hour.
- Use a meat mallet to hit the cady all over. This creates cracked stained glass piece.
- Enjoy!
Notes:
- Store in sealed container.
- This recipe only makes one flavour at a time. If you want more flavours and colours, you need to make multiple batches.
