Stained Glass Candy

Crash Into the Party with Broken Glass Candy!

This festive candy is great for the holidays but can also be turned into a fun treat any time of year with a change up in flavours and colours. Get creative and this time, definitely break the glass.

1 cup water
3 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon food colouring of your choice
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon flavoured oil or extract



  1. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Sift powdered sugar over the entire pan and set aside.
  3. In a saucepan, add the water, white sugar, and corn syrup.
  4. Turn on medium heat and stir until all is dissolved.
  5. Insert a candy thermometer and let mixture come to a boil.
  6. Let mixture boil until it reaches 150 degrees C or 300 degrees F.
  7. Remove from heat and add the colouring and flavouring and stir.
  8. Pour candy mixture on the pan with the powdered sugar.
  9. Let the candy completely cool for about 1 hour.
  10. Use a meat mallet to hit the cady all over. This creates cracked stained glass piece.
  11. Enjoy!



  • Store in sealed container.
  • This recipe only makes one flavour at a time. If you want more flavours and colours, you need to make multiple batches.
