Fruit Roll Ups

Unroll the Fun with Homemade Fruit Roll Ups!

A 90’s lunch time classic, the fruit roll up is still beloved to this day. This version takes a more natural angle. So pick your favourite fruit and make one of your favourite childhood snacks!

Ingredients:

8 ounces of strawberries
1 Tablespoon of lemon juice
3 Tablespoons of sugar

 

Instructions:

  1. Like a baking pan with baking paper and set aside.
  2. Take the stems off of the strawberries.
  3. Puree in food processor or blender until completely smooth.
  4. Put the puree in a saucepan and add the lemon juice and sugar.
  5. Turn on the heat to medium high and cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Stir frequently until it becomes thick and jammy.
  7. Turn oven to 80 degrees C or 170 degrees F or the lowest option for your oven.
  8. Spread the mixture into a rectangle shape as evenly as possible.
  9. Do not make too thin as it will lose some of the thickness in the oven.
  10. Bake in the oven for 3-4 hours until the it feel tacky and not still sticky.
  11. Remove from oven and cool completely.
  12. Once cooled, put on a cutting board. Do not remove the baking paper.
  13. Cut into long stripes and roll them up.
  14. Unroll and enjoy!

  

Notes:

You can use frozen strawberries for this recipe as well. Make sure to thaw them first and then start the recipe.
